Our staff is composed of eight experienced accounting professionals and four clerical staff members, who are ready to serve you and help you fulfill your plans and goals. Our staff's experience and academic credentials give our clients the depth of knowledge you'll find in a larger firm, while our dedication to superior customer service offers the personal, one-on-one approach you expect from a smaller firm.

Leadership

John F. Lewis, CPA, President
Mr. Lewis is a graduate of Murray State University (Murray, Ky.), where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1981. He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant since 1986 and has been in public practice in the Central Texas area for the past 20 years. Mr. Lewis has served as Tax and Accounting Senior and Office Manager in public accounting. He is a specialist in the area of audit and taxation for nonprofit organizations and government entities as well as individuals, corporations, partnerships and estates. He has been involved on audits of nonprofit entities for the last 19 years.

Drew Petersen, Audit Manager/Human Resources and IT Director
Mr. Petersen has been with John F. Lewis, P.C., since December 2000. He is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting.

Mr. Petersen manages staff and assists in the planning and review of audit and review engagements within the firm's government, nonprofit, and construction areas of practice.  He has more than 11 years experience working with these industries. Additionally, he has met all the requirements for taking the CPA exam, and is the process of completing his certification.

In addition, Mr. Petersen maintains the human resources and information technologies environment at the firm. He also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for EveryChild, Inc.

Rhonda Lancaster, CPA
Ms. Lancaster is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting in 1987. After graduating with highest honors, Ms. Lancaster worked for Ernst & Young in the Audit Department for two years. She then held various positions with large corporations for 10 years with responsibilities in tax, general accounting and financial planning. Ms. Lancaster has been with the firm since 2005.

Patricia Katt, CPA
Ms. Katt, a native Texan, is a 1972 graduate of Texas A & M University. Her career began as a tax manager with a national accounting firm in Waco, and she became a Certified Public Accountant in 1975. After 10 years of public practice, working with small business clients and numerous professional practices, she opened her own firm in Georgetown in 1982. Today, she specializes in tax compliance and tax planning, and particularly enjoys the challenges of assisting business owners with wealth accumulation and estate planning, as well as advising clients regarding the tax implications of estate and trust administration. Ms. Katt is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
